Using Business to Promote Change

With People is an Edinburgh based social firm providing accessibility, graphic design, information technology, and well being services and consultancy.

The work of the business creates employment and volunteering opportunities for disabled people.

Historically, many disabled people have found it challenging to gain employment and find the opportunity to have a career development path. With People's experience suggests that one of the most effective ways of finding meaningful and fulfilling employment is to create the opportunity yourself.

The With People model is based upon a business which provides a range of professional services; namely accessibility services, graphic design, information technology and wel being.

Each of the services is delivered by members of the With People team. The team is made up of skilled and experienced professionals.

As a social firm, and Community Interest Company, With People aim to employ a high percentage of disabled people within the work force. Our goal is 60% of workers having a live and first hand experience of disability; in reality we currently have 100%.

Not all people choose or are able, for many reasons, to engage in full time or paid employment but participation remains important. The With People philosophy looks at providing opportunities to include these people within our activities. Using creative approaches we are able to offer interesting and exciting opportunities to overcome the barriers to work and volunteering for disabled people.
